From 01.08.2023, the following tax changes come into force:
- Companies with more than 100 employees will be required to pay salaries exclusively via bank transfer.
- Dividends to shareholders exceeding BGN 1,000 will be paid by bank transfer from 01.09.2023.
- Companies that hold cash registers will be required to declare their cash balances each quarter.
- The declaration must be submitted to the NRA by the end of the month following the quarter.
Free basic bank account
Individuals will have the option to open a free basic bank account, exempt from maintenance and withdrawal fees, as well as fees for withdrawals from ATMs owned by the servicing bank.
From the moment you receive money from another source into the free basic bank account, the free usage automatically ceases and fees begin to be charged according to the bank's tariff.
